Nappies
At the moment about eight million disposable nappies are thrown away every day in the UK. Real nappies get used again and again.
If you have a baby, think about using modern washable real nappies. They are cheaper than disposables and better for the environment as they do not end in up in landfill.
For more information have a look at the real nappy campaign website or telephone their helpline on 0845 850 0606.
You could also contact the nappy advisor for Plymouth by telephoning 01752 661835 or visiting the green mums website. The nappy advisor offers a free-of-charge (£50 refundable deposit) nappy trial kit to parents for 1 month's use.
And finally.....
Choosing reusable products for health, cost and environmental benefits isn't just limited to your baby. Many women have switched from disposable to reusable sanitary products and are surprised at how easy and convenient they are to use. Whether you want to save money, avoid chemicals and bleaches or cut down on the 11,000 disposable sanitary items an average woman will use in her lifetime, you will wish you made the switch sooner!
