Council tax bills and bands

Council tax bills include charges set by Devon and Cornwall Police Authority and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Authority. The level of these charges are set by the Authorities themselves, Plymouth City Council collects the money on their behalf.

Council Tax is normally payable by 10 instalments, from April to January.

Further information and documents

The Valuation List shows the market value of dwellings within each band, as they would have been on 1 April 1991. For council tax banding purposes when a new property is built the Valuation Office value it, as it would have been on 1 April 1991.

If you wish to appeal against your property being included in the Valuation List, or you think the entry in the list is incorrect or the band allocated incorrect, you should write to The Listing Office, Valuation Office, 190 Armada Way, Plymouth PL1 1EG, or you can appeal on line at the Valuation Office Agency website.
