Cost

The Government expects councils to recover the cost of licensing through application fees. It has not set standard or maximum fees but has provided guidance on the method of fee calculation.

The current fees took effect from 1 August 2011 when our new licensing policy came into operation.

Please note that there is a range of discounts available to reward good management practice. The basic licence fee is £800, but this can be reduced to as little as £410 in some cases. It is expected that most applicants will pay less than £500.
