Call 24

Help in an emergency

Help can be summoned by pulling a cord or pressing the pendant. When the sheltered housing officer is on duty they will respond. However, when off duty we have an emergency alarm system in place that gives tenants peace of mind knowing that they can easily summon help when needed.

The alarm centre is called Call 24.

This service can be used to call for help at any time; if a tenant is suddenly taken ill, has an accident, or are faced with a problem. Call 24 staff will answer any call. They are always on hand to speak to tenants and obtain any additional help that is required.

Even if a tenant cannot speak, the staff will know who is calling because each alarm has its own special call number.

The sheltered housing officer will explain the emergency system to new tenants when they move in and will also show them how to use it. Please note that all cords should not be tied up or shortened for safety.
