Qualified Children’s Social Workers

Plus: Team Managers, Senior Practitioners and Independent Reviewing Officers

Social Worker salary Grade H (£30,011 to £33,661) per annum

If you have a Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, Dip.SW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent) and are interested in joining the Department of Services for Children and Young People we want to hear from you.

For newly qualified Social Workers, a Development Programme is in place, in addition to the Corporate and Departmental Induction packages that include the Children’s Workforce Development Council Induction Standards.

A relocation package is available for all posts. However, as part of a pilot, up to £8000 is available for Social Workers and Senior Practitioners on production of receipted accounts. Pilot during 2009 may be subject to change.

We are also willing to discuss a variety of options in terms of flexible working, including fixed term contracts and there is also the potential for extended and/or special leave, as per Local Terms and Conditions of Employment.

We have a rolling programme for shortlisting and interviewing directly related to this advertisement. Shortlisting takes place on the second Tuesday and interviews on the fourth Tuesday of alternate months. We will be shortlisting and interviewing in May, July, September, November 2009, January and March 2010.

During the course of the year, there are likely to be a number of Team Manager, Senior Practitioner and Independent Reviewing Officer vacancies.

These positions are subject to Criminal Records Bureau clearance.
