The online archive catalogue contains images of documents attached to some of the catalogue entries.

How to find an image

Images can be found by including the search term digital image on the search the archives catalogue page. Searches are not case sensitive.

What you will find

The search will produce a number of results. If you click on a result that you are interested in, the catalogue entry will appear on the screen. The image will be displayed by clicking on the image url link. Sometimes more than one image is available.

Download the image

If you click on the image url link, the image will download. The download process varies depending of the operating system that you are using. The image is always called "CalmWebserviceImage" and you should save it to your hard drive and if necessary rename it and make sure that it has a ".jpg" suffix. The image can then be viewed using any image viewing software.

Watermarking and copyright

All of the images you can look at have been watermarked. Please do not try to remove the watermarking or crop the image as to do so infringes copyright. We can provide you with a copy of the image without any watermarking for your private research or school/university studies at our discounted rate of £2 per image.
