Photocopies of baptism, marriage and burial entries
We can supply photocopies from parish register microfiche up to a maximum of 10 pages per order, where you can provide the full details (name/date/church) for each entry required.
Please note that we do not undertake speculative searches and searches using the General Register Office Index numbers.
If you do not have the full details please use our archive researcher service or visit us to search through the registers.
Parish register photocopies sent by post are charged at:
- £5 minimum charge (1 to 4 sheets) and 60p per additional sheet, to a maximum of 10 sheets in total. An additional charge to cover overseas postage may also be added.
Parish register photocopies obtained in the Record Office are charged at:
- Reader printer (self service) 40p per sheet

Photocopies of other documents
We can supply photocopies by post to anywhere worldwide.
You may also be asked to complete a copyright declaration form with your order and remittance. The copyright declaration form can be downloaded below.
Please note that we may not be able to photocopy some documents due to their size or fragility.
Our fees and charges are as follows:
Copying charges (by post)
- A4 photocopy (1 to 4 sheets) - £5 minimum charge
- 60p per additional sheet
- A3 photocopy (1 to 4 sheets) - £6 minimum charge
- 80p per additional sheet
- Reader printer (1 to 4 sheets) - £5 minimum charge
- 60p per additional sheet, to a maximum of 10 sheets in total
Copying charges (requested in person)
- A4 photocopy - 40p per sheet
- A3 photocopy - 60p per sheet
- Reader printer (self service) - 40p per sheet

Digital and professional copying by Record office staff
We are unable to provide a digital copying service at present. Please use the services of an archive researcher as an alternative.
Western Morning News photographs printed from negatives
- Digital scanned images (sent by email at no extra charge or on a CD for £1 extra) - £5 per image
- Digital scanned images printed out on paper in greyscale or full colour on photo quality paper - £6 per image
Delivery time is up to 14 days for UK customers and for overseas customers, please wait 21 days.

Special copying services
- Baptismal copies (for official purposes) - £5
- Retrieval of coroner’s records (within closure period) as authorised by Her Majesty's Coroner, including copies - £10

Using cameras in the search room
If you wish to take photographs of material in the search room (within the terms of copyright regulations) the following charge(s) apply:
- Daily rate - £2.50
- Weekly rate - £7.50
- Yearly rate - £60
The charges help to pay for some of the preservation overheads incurred in caring for the collections and are in line with charges made by many other record offices across the UK.

If you have requested a photograph or photocopy of a document covered by UK copyright laws, you will need to print out and complete the declaration form below and return it to us with your order and remittance.
