How to pay

You can pay in the following ways:

Cash

You can pay for items in cash at the search room enquiry desk. All cash payments must be in £ Sterling. Please do not sent cash by post.

Cheque, postal order or money order/bank draft

You can pay by cheque or postal order at the search room enquiry desk. You may be asked to show your cheque guarantee card. Cheques and postal orders can also be sent to us by post.

Money orders/bank drafts will be accepted from overseas customers as long as they are payable on a UK bank and are in £ Sterling.

All cheques, postal orders, money orders and bank drafts should be made out to Plymouth City Council and sent to us at:

Plymouth and West Devon Record Office, Unit 3 Clare Place, Plymouth, PL4 0JW United Kingdom.

Credit or debit card

Plymouth and West Devon Record Office is able to process credit and debit card payments. Whilst card details can be supplied to the office via telephone or email, it is recommended that until a secure internet site exists to receive them, card details should be supplied in preference by telephone.

You can pay using any of the follow types of card: Delta/Electron, Mastercard, Switch/Maestro, Visa Debit, Visa Credit and Solo.

We will accept card payments where:

• you are the authorised card holder
• you provide all requested information
• goods are sent to the authorised card holders address

We are unable at present to accept card payments at the search room enquiry desk. To pay by card, please call 01752 305940 or ++44 1752 305940 from overseas where ++ is your international dialling code. We will accept payments between 9.30am and 4.45pm Mondays to Thursdays and 3.45pm on Fridays UK time.

Secure payment over the internet

You cannot use the 'Make an online payment' section of this website to pay for any goods and services from us at Plymouth and West Devon Record Office at present. Please use our telephone service or send your payment by post.

We are at present unable to accept cash and cheques not in Pounds Sterling, cash sent to us by post or Internet payments including Pay Pal.
