Written by a UK GP, information and advice on a number of medical conditions.

Merck's Medical Index

Very comprehensive index of medical conditions and terms, including common medical tests.

Muslim Health Network

News, information and advice "to promote, preserve, protect, organise and advance health education and health issues" that concern the UK's Muslim community.

National Electronic Library for Health

Wealth of information for health professionals, patients and the public. NeLH provides information about the NHS, and within sections including Cancer, Diabetes, Emergency Care, Infection, Primary Care and Skin Conditions.

Net Doctor

An independent site containing comprehensive information, features and advice about health matters. Contributors are practicing doctors and other health professionals, information specialists and patients from the UK and Europe.

NHS Direct Online

Very comprehensive information and advice from the NHS on very many health-related matters. Includes information about local NHS services and a Health Encyclopaedia.

National information and connections to local services and service providers, relating to all areas of health.

OMD: On-line Medical Dictionary

OMD is a searchable dictionary of over 46,000 entries relating to health and biological science created by Dr Graham Dark of the Department of Medical Oncology, University of Newcastle upon Tyne. The dictionary is hugely comprehensive, and includes acronyms, jargon, theory, conventions, standards, institutions, projects, eponyms and history.

OMNI: Organising Medical Networked Information

OMNI offers free access to a constantly updated searchable catalogue of Internet sites covering health and medicine.

Patient UK

Patient UK includes a directory of health, topic, disease, and related websites from the UK, almost 700 subject-specific leaflets (in a number of languages), and "Find me a .... [health specialist or professional]" gateway.
