MAGIC

Interactive map bringing together geographic information on key environmental schemes and designations in one place. Magic is a partnership project involving six government organisations that have responsibilities for rural policy-making and management.

National Environment Research Council

Information on environmental issues like climate change, natural hazards, genetically modified (GM) crops and biodiversity. Also publications like their 'Planet Earth' magazine and links to the libraries, archives and data at their research centres.

World Resources Institute

US-based 'think tank' which researches ways to protect the environment and improve people's lives (eg climate, energy and transport, people and ecosystems). Includes Earth Trends, an online database of environmental information.

WWF: the global conservation organisation

The WWF’s website contains comprehensive news and information about its activities with and for endangered species, and links to all WWF sites worldwide, including WWF-UK. The WWF was formerly known as the World Wildlife Fund and the World Wide Fund for Nature.
