The Local and Naval Studies Library holds many and varied information resources, either on display or behind the scenes, which all members of the public can use; library membership is not necessary.

• Books: about 35,000 volumes
• Internet and email access
• Journals, magazines and newspapers
• Maps: various dates and scales
• Illustrations: mounted photographs and engravings of Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall
• Cuttings: an extensive collection from a range of sources
• Sound and video
• Theatre programmes
• Family history and genealogy resources
• Photocopying service: black and white, and colour
• Fax service

Material on microform requires the use of a reader.
