Joining the library

A Plymouth library card lets you borrow books, hire DVDs and CDs, use the computers for free and access our online reference library.

It's free and anyone who lives, works or studies in Plymouth can become a member.

Visit your local library or join online now. No identification is needed. If you join online you will need to visit a library to pick up your card.

New members are able to borrow half the usual number of items allowed during the first six weeks of membership. See borrowing from your library for more information.

Personal Identification Number (PIN)

You need a PIN if you want to renew or reserve books online, or use the computers in our libraries.

To get a PIN ask at your local library or email library@plymouth.gov.uk.
