Entente Florale Europe logo

Entente Florale

Following Plymouth’s success in the 2007 Britain in Bloom competition, Plymouth has been nominated from over 20,000 entrants across Europe to represent Britain in the highly prestigious Entente Florale competition.

Judging criteria for the competition includes floral displays, natural environment, heritage, arts, architecture, regeneration, business, transport and overall quality of life.

On the 4 August twelve European judges will be coming to Plymouth and will spend eight hours viewing the city.

The visit is part of a hectic two week schedule for the judges as they tour around twelve European countries.

There is no overall winner but there are three standards, gold, silver and bronze.

This will be Plymouth’s only opportunity of taking part in Entente Florale as currently competitors are only invited to take part once.

Previous British successes:

  • Cardiff
  • Sheffield
  • Shrewsbury
  • St Ives
  • Harrogate
