Children in the park

Parks, nature and green spaces

Did you know that over a third of Plymouth is green space? That includes parks, allotments, nature reserves, cemeteries and those neighbourhood greens at the end of your road.

These are important places for people to relax, enjoy nature, take children to play or for sport or recreation. They are essential for the health and well-being of the city.

We look after and develop 950 hectares of these open spaces within the city, working to provide a better cleaner, safer, greener environment and quality of life for the residents of Plymouth. Best of all our parks and open spaces are free to access and use!

We need your help

We want to know what you think about natural spaces in Plymouth. We're preparing a new Local Plan that will shape the development of the city until 2031. Improving our natural spaces will be part of the plans for Plymouth. We are therefore interested in your views about spaces such as parks, nature reserves, beaches, slipways, playing pitches and growing areas.

Have you say and make sure your voice is heard - comment on our natural spaces.
