Prince Day

Whiteford Road Tennis Club
Saturday 3 May, 10am to 6pm

Open Day at the club for members, non-members, friends and family.

The day will include a mini tennis tournament for seniors and juniors, a barbecue, a fancy dress competition for children and a raffle.

Plymouth Half Marathon

2008 will be biggest event ever as we have raised the race limit to 5,000 entries. No need to rush but last year's 4,500 entries were gone by the end of December. There will also be a 2 kilometre fun run.

Devon Youth Games

Over 1,000 young people aged between eight and 15 from all over Devon will be competing against other local authorities in a number of sports including athletics, aquathon, badminton, cricket, hockey, gymnastics, netball, tennis and volleyball.

28 mile row to the Lighthouse and back starting at the Mount Batten Pier. Open to anything rowable or paddleable, human power only.

Pedal for a Medal cycle ride

Sunday 14 September

The date has been set for the 17th annual Pedal for a Medal cycle ride from Plymouth onto Dartmoor National Park to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

Starting and finishing at Coypool park and ride in Plympton, there is a choice of a 7 mile off road family route, or for the more adventurous the on road 20 or 35 mile routes.

Start time

  • 8.30am for the 20 and 35 mile routes
  • 9.45am for the 7 mile family route

Entry fee

  • Adults - £7.50
  • Child - £2.50
  • Family - £20 ( 2 adults and 3 children)
