Our progress

Adult social care is changing. Putting People First is the Government's vision for the future direction of social care. The main aim is to increase the choice and control people have in deciding how their needs are met. There has been a lot going on in Plymouth and we are already making good progress in implementing changes.

Putting People First in Plymouth really is a work in progress and to help us shape the future we have been hearing the views of people who use our services, talking to staff, and listening to what the people who provide services are saying, so that we can design the future together.

Consulting with the people of Plymouth and our staff is a key priority and one which will remain throughout this programme of change and beyond to ensure that we know and learn what is working and what is not.

During the last 18 months we have been working across all areas of adult social care to get a clear understanding about what we need to do, that will improve people's quality of life and deliver better outcomes for all people who use services.
