The Adoption and Permanence Panel's recommendation
Your Prospective Adopters Report will be presented to Plymouth City Council's Adoption and Permanence Panel - legally constituted social work representatives, a medical and legal advisor and independent people of varying gender, background, race and sexual orientation. All members are open-minded and have a personal or professional knowledge of adoption.
The Adoption and Permanence Panel will meet to discuss your application. Although your social worker will be present to answer any questions, you are also expected to attend.
The Panel recommends whether or not you are suitable to adopt a child. You will be verbally advised of their recommendation the same day although to be approved as an adoptive parent, their recommendation still needs to be ratified by the agency decision-maker who will make their formal decision within seven days of the Panel meeting.
