Why do people adopt?
"Our lives changed totally and for the better. So if you understand that it is not always going to be easy, that your life will change forever in every way and you can be completely committed to a child, then go for it!"
Every family has different hopes and dreams and may choose to adopt a child or children into their lives for a variety of reasons.
People from all over the South West have had different reasons for adopting for Plymouth. Some people wish to become parents but are unable to have their own children. Others feel that although they have birth children they would like to increase their family through adoption. Some adopters would like to provide a child who has had a traumatic experience and whose future is uncertain with a loving family, and have enough space in their lives to do so.
Whatever your reason for wanting to adopt a child, the experience can be mutually rewarding as well as challenging and we promise to support you every step of the way. Please read on for real-life stories of people who have made a success of adoption with Plymouth.
