What sort of foster carers are needed?
Fostering is about supporting local families. We welcome enquiries from people interested in fostering all types of children and young people. However, due to the needs of the children in our care, we are particularly keen to find more foster carers for the following types of children and young people:
- ACE - short breaks for children with disabilities
- teenagers
- young babies together with their parent, to help the new parent learn to care for their child
- long term foster carers for children like 'Danny'
- we are also looking for carers from minority cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds who can care for children of all ages
If you are interested in one of the above groups of children, we will prioritise your enquiry and process it as quickly as possible.
