Local child protection guidance

Plymouth is one of 11 Local Safeguarding Children Boards throughout the South West responsible for commissioning a new regional child protection handbook. The first section of the new guidelines came into force in January 2007 and can be downloaded from the South West Child Protection Procedures website.

In order to provide professionals, working with children and families locally, with up to date and clear guidance, the Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board has approved a number of local Child Protection Guidance.

These do not replace the South West Child Protection Procedures, but can be used by professionals to help them in safeguarding children and young people.
