Equality and Inclusion

Plymouth City Council supports schools in promoting equality of opportunity and developing inclusive learning environments where all pupils and staff can feel safe, enjoy their work and be successful, regardless of their sexual orientation, race, religion or disability. Both equality and inclusion should be themes permeating through all school policies and procedures, curriculum opportunities and the wider school community.

Schools in Plymouth are encouraged to use the audit tool, The Plymouth Kitemark for Inclusion. On completion, schools are visited by an accreditation team and, if successful are presented with the Plymouth Kitemark for Inclusion Award. The audit tool can be downloaded below:
