Plymouth Advisory Learning Support Service

About us
Plymouth Advisory Learning Support Service (PALS) works in partnership with primary and secondary schools in Plymouth to:
- Raise the attainment of pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
- Support schools in meeting the needs of pupils with cognition and learning difficulties
The service works closely with special educational needs coordinators (SENCos) through consultation, advisory and project work on a range of whole school special educational needs/learning difficulties and disabilities (SEN/LDD) issues with a school improvement focus.
Advice is provided on resources and strategies to support pupils' learning and to enable pupils with SEN/LDD to access the curriculum. A range of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities are provided for SENCos, teachers and teaching assistants (TAs).
Through PALS organised conferences and newsletters, SENCos and schools are updated on national and local initiatives that impact on support for pupils with SEN/LDD in mainstream primary and secondary schools.
