Schools Premises Legislation Compliance Team
Support service
About us
Set up by the Plymouth Association of Primary Headteachers, the Schools' Premises Legislation Compliance Team offer support and advice to primary schools so that they can demonstrate legislative compliance. This involves systematically working through the Person in Control (PIC) Site Control Logbook, establishing and implementing systems of good practice and helping the Person in Control to understand their statutory duties.
As part of the support service, signed up schools receive regular meetings with a member of the Schools' Premises Legislation Compliance Team. Although responsibility for safely managing the school rests with the Headteacher, identified as the Person in Control, (PIC) the PIC is likely to delegate tasks to other staff members. For this reason we will meet with the Headteacher, Business Manager, Administrator and or Caretaker on a rotational basis. In addition to these scheduled visits there is someone from the team based in the office Monday to Friday, to assist you with any queries and email any documents you may require.
The purpose of this site is to provide you with regular topical updates, such as forthcoming training, as well as links and previews of useful documents. Full copies can be obtained by emailing the Schools' Premises Legislation Compliance Administrator.
