Information Systems Division
The Information Systems Division (ISD) of Plymouth City Council provides support for all information and communications systems and technology to enable the effective delivery of services to the public. We see the use of suitable new technologies as essential to ensure that all the Council’s services deliver continuous improvements year on year.
ISD supports the activities of the Council through the provision and support of all computers, printers, other peripherals, servers, storage, networks, telephones and software applications.
To deliver an effective service, ISD is divided into the following teams:
- ICT strategy and programme: are responsible for overseeing programmed projects and defining ICT strategy.
- Operational service delivery: are responsible for the ISD service desk, providing technical support to solve users ICT problems and maintaining the Council’s network, servers, computers and telecomm equipment, installation and ICT security, and arranging ICT training and providing training material.
- ICT business improvement: are responsible for the procurement of all the Council's ICT goods and services, processing of all ICT invoices, contract management, ICT training support, maintaining the physical software library, stock handling, and finally recycling all the Council's hardware and software.
- Business systems development: are responsible for the development and maintenance of in-house computer systems, and the implementation and integration of third party systems.
