Outlook
The majority of data in your email is held on servers and will therefore automatically be available on your new PC or laptop.
Personal folders
- No action – they will move with you (eg your inbox and any of its subfolders)
Outlook signatures
If you have created a signature in Outlook that is automatically added to each email you send, this will not be copied onto your new machine. The process for setting up the new signature is the same on the Win XP machine as on your old one.
Before the move
- Make sure you have at least one email using your signature in your sent items folder
After the move
- Open an email from your sent items folder
- Select your signature from the bottom of this email and choose copy from the edit menu
- Choose options
- Click on the mail format tab
- Click on signatures
- Click the new button – type in a name for the signature and then click on next
- Right click in the box and choose paste to paste in your copied signature
- Click on finish and then OK until you are back to the main Outlook screen.
- Test the signature by creating a new email – it should be there!
