Top tasks

If you are of pensionable age (see document below) or disabled and live in Plymouth you may be eligible for a national concessionary bus pass. Please read the information on these pages for details on how you can benefit from the scheme.

What is the national concessionary bus pass?

Everyone who is resident in England and who is of pensionable age or those with certain disabilities are entitled to a free bus pass giving free off-peak travel on local buses anywhere in England. 'Off-peak' is between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on public holidays.

In Plymouth we offer an additional benefit to our residents aged 80 years and over, and those registered blind who can travel at any time of day up to 11pm on Mondays to Fridays and all day at weekends and on public holidays. Please note that this additional entitlement to travel before 9.30am only applies to journeys made wholly within Plymouth. Residents will automatically receive a new pass prior to their 80th birthday to show this additional entitlement.
