Hackney carriage byelaws
The Secretary of State for Transport has approved a new set of byelaws to regulate the Hackney Carriage trade operating within the City of Plymouth under S.236, Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).
These new byelaws became effective on 14 July 2009.
All hackney carriage drivers have received their own copy of the byelaws by post (to the address held on their licensing file) and new drivers will formally receive a copy when their licence is issued.
A sealed copy of the byelaws may be viewed at the Civic Centre Council Offices during normal working hours. Please contact us in advance to arrange a convenient appointment time on 01752 304147.
