Membership
Membership to the Plymouth Local Access Forum (LAF) is balanced between three main interests, these being:
- Users of access land or public rights of way
- Owners and occupiers of access land or land crossed by rights of way
- Other interests considered relevant to Plymouth
Other interests relevant to Plymouth include, but are not necessarily limited to, tourism, outdoor education, sport and recreational provision, disability awareness, local business interest, the military, health promotion and wildlife and cultural heritage.
Forum members are appointed for a three year term of office and each year a third of members are up for renewal - meaning new members can be introduced each year.
Guidance from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) says that the forum will be made up of between 10 and 22 members of which three will be elected members of the Council (Councillors).
