The trend in motorcycle casualties is shown in the table below. The figures are based on collisions that occurred within the boundaries of the city of Plymouth.

Who are the motorcycle casualties
Most of the motorcycle casualties in Plymouth are young men on bikes under 125cc who live in the city. A detailed look at the data shows us the following:
- 60% of motorcycle casualties were aged between 16 and 24 years old in 2006
- 66% of 16 to 24 year olds were riding a bike under 125cc when they were involved in a crash
