Real Time Passenger Information

Plymouth City Council, in partnership with the local bus operators are committed to improving the quality, accessibility and reliability of public transport information made available to members of the public. This is why we are working hard to provide Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI).

RTPI is the system which allows actual, rather than scheduled, departure times for buses to be provided to the public. There are three ways in which people can currently access RTPI:

• On street displays As shown in the photograph above - many of the bus shelters in Plymouth are fitted with RTPI electronic displays, like those in the shelters in Royal Parade, which show the departures times of the buses.
• Visit the website Visit Check That Bus (RTPI) to access Real Time bus information on your desktop
• By text message If you text the unique SMS bus top code to 84268 you will receive a reply text message displaying the next three buses to that stop, real time and scheduled time will be shown. The bus stop code is displayed on the bus stop flag and can also be found by visiting the Check That Bus (RTPI) website.

Text messages cost 25p per message plus your standard text cost.
