Streets
The section provides all the information relating to council owned streets within the city boundary. The council is responsible for ensuring that Plymouth’s streets are clean, safe and in a good state of repair. A number of council functions play a role in achieving this, such as:
- keeping the streets lit at night
- maintaining the highway (roads and footpaths)
- maintaining and controlling traffic signals
- maintaining and repairing street furniture (benches and signs)
- sweeping and cleaning footpaths and highways
- cleaning public conveniences
- removing graffiti and fly posters
- dealing with fly tipping
- dealing with abandoned vehicles
- emptying litter and dog waste bins
