The Cycling Strategy
This Cycle Strategy updates the previous strategy and has been developed to integrate with Plymouth’s emerging Local Transport Plan (LTP2) 2006-2011 setting out measures designed to increase cycling and improve cycle provision throughout the City over the next fifteen years. This will be achieved through the delivery of an environment that is conducive and supportive of cycling, particularly with respect to new developments and by promoting cycling as a smarter choice for commuting, health and leisure.
The strategy will also look at the risks encountered by cyclists through casualty data analysis, and introduce safety improvements targeted at particular sites and routes. The strategy reflects the wider objectives of the National Cycling Strategy and promotes current best practice.
