The Direction Signing Strategy
The Transportation, Infrastructure and Engineering Service have developed this Directional Signing Strategy For Plymouth. This specifically looks at vehicular road directional signing and seeks to make the best use of the existing highway infrastructure through the provision of clear and concise routing.
Vehicular direction signing within the City has not been reviewed since Plymouth City Council gained control of the highways from Devon County Council in 1998. Since then there has been a deterioration of the quality of the direction signing which reflects upon the perception of the City by visitors and residents alike.
