Content of the 2001 census key statistics

Please note that some tables as shown here are not necessarily quite the same as the Office for National Statistics (ONS) original. A few tables have been adjusted either to keep them short or to include other (census) information that you might find useful. Where an adjustment has been made to the ONS original this has been noted in the index below.

A brief summary of the content of each table is shown in the index below. Please click on the appropriate table title to see or print off the data.

	Table KS01N - usual resident population - shows the total population; people living in households and communal establishments; number of households and average household size. File format Adobe Acrobat (pdf) - 5KB
	Table KS02N - age structure - shows the total population by broad age groups, the populations shown by ONS for some age groups have here been aggregated into broader age groups. File format Adobe Acrobat (pdf) - 5KB
	Table KS03N - living arrangements - shows the relationships (married or cohabiting couples; single never married etc) of people aged 16 and over in private households. File format Adobe Acrobat (pdf) - 6KB

	Table KS09AN - economic activity all people (males plus females) - shows all those aged 16 to 74 economically active, unemployed and full-time students, the total for economically inactive shown represent the sum of a number of ONS inactive categories. File format Adobe Acrobat (pdf) - 45KB
