Completed schemes

Scheme 1

Implementing right hand turn bans at locations on Outland Road to improve safety and keep traffic moving.

• Following the consultation with residents in 2008, designs for the prohibitions were developed and the signs have been installed.
• New automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras on the Northern Corridor have also been installed. The cameras allow active traffic management through journey time monitoring.

Consultation and public engagement

• Letters were sent out to residents who were directly affected by the scheme advising them of the works.
• In 2008 residents were consulted about proposals to introduce a series of right-hand turn bans on Outland Road.

Scheme 2

Improving the pedestrian crossing facilities on Beacon Park Road. This scheme involved providing pedestrian facilities along Beacon Park Road and improving pedestrian access to bus stops and to local convenience shops.

• Work has now been completed.

Consultation and public engagement

• Ward Councillors, bus operators and local residents were consulted about the scheme. A copy of the residents notification letter and the construction notification letter can be downloaded from the documents table below.
