Get the bus to Bovisand beach

Councillor Sue Dann catching the Bovisand busBeach lovers will be able to take a bus straight to the seaside during this half term, thanks to Plymouth City Council.

The Council is subsidising a service to the popular beach of Bovisand, which overlooks Plymouth Sound.

The number 54, which will operated by Target Travel, will run on Saturdays and Sundays from 21 May to 11 September and also on Mondays to Fridays including Bank Holidays from 30 May to 3 June and from 25 July to 2 September.

The bus will run every hour from the A9 stop on Royal Parade from 10am until 6pm returning from Bovisand hourly from 10.29am until 6.29pm on each day of operation.

Councillor Sue Dann, Cabinet Member for Transport and Customer Services, said: “This is a great idea for families who fancy a day out on the beach.

“It is running through the half-term holidays as well as the summer holidays and getting a ride takes the hassle out of driving through country lanes and finding somewhere to park.”
