Self Service

Anyone can use our Self Service website to view information such as council tax bands, business rates rateable values, change of address and sign up for Direct Debit. It's free and you don't need to create an account.

How to register

Visit the Self Service website.

Click on the 'Register now' button under the heading 'Don't have an account?'

You will be asked for your email address and to set up a username, password and security questions.

An email will automatically be sent to your email address and you will be required to click on the link to activate your account. Once you have activated your account you will be able to log-in at any time.

In addition, you will need to request a pin number to be able to access you Council Tax, Housing Benefit, Landlord or Business Rates and will need your account reference number (this can be found on the top of your relevant council paperwork).

For security purposes the pin number will be sent to you by mail to your home address.

You will be prompted for this pin when accessing your account information.

If you have already registered, and received a PIN number from us, you can start using our Self Service website straightaway by selecting one of the following services.

Council tax

View your account balance, bill details, payments made, let us know if you move address, sign up for e-billing and view documents we have sent you.

Business rates

View your business rates rateable values, account balance, bill details, payments made and sign up for e-billing and view documents we have sent to you.

Benefit claimant

View benefit payments made to you, see how your benefit has been calculated and view documents we have sent to you.

Landlords

View housing benefit payments that are made directly to you. See previous and next payments due and view documents we have sent to you.

Council tax bands

View the valuation band of a specific domestic property.

Business rates rateable values

View the rateable value of a specific non-domestic property.

Change of address

Report a council tax change of address if you are moving to or from a property within Plymouth.

Direct Debit

Setup a Direct Debit for your council tax or business rates.
