International study shows England’s 15-year-olds are behind in reading
The Department for Education (DfE) has published its analysis of the latest international PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) study. The headline is that England’s 15-year-olds are a year behind their peers in Korea, Shanghai and Finland when it comes to reading. They are also more than six months behind their counterparts in Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and Australia.
