Plymouth Sports Forum (PSF)
What is Plymouth Sports Forum?
Plymouth Sports Forum is a charitable organisation created by voluntary sports representatives. Their objectives are to:
- identify and advise on sports and leisure issues in the City of Plymouth to include both current and future needs
- increase the number of people participating in sport
- help improve sports facilities and sporting opportunities within the city
- actively pursue the funds that are necessary to improve sport from whatever sources can be identified
- allocate grant aid from available sources in support of sport and recreation, particularly at 'grass roots' level
- perform the role of a consultant organisation with regards to grant applications made to external bodies eg Sports Lottery
- recognise the cultural diversity of the population and the right for everyone to have equal opportunity and access to sport
The current membership of Plymouth Sports Forum includes around thirty different sports and organisations, who together provide an effective forum for sports people to communicate with each other and other sports organisations to promote the benefits of sport and share good practice. Plymouth Sports Forum are always looking for new members.
