Sports and recreational grant aid

What can I get grant aid for?

Sport and recreational grant aid is available to support sports leaders, coaches and officials to become qualified or gain further or higher qualifications.

What course/award can I apply for?

You can receive financial assistance towards the cost of a nationally recognised:

• Coaching course or sporting qualification
• Officiating course
• Leadership award
• Sports related courses

Please note: courses must be certificated and applicants must submit an application within three months of completion.

Who can apply?

Applicants must live within the recognised city boundaries, or represent a recognised Plymouth sports club, who are non-profit making.

How much financial assistance is available?

• Up to £500 towards course costs
• Up to £60 towards travel costs
• £15 per night towards accommodation costs

How do I apply?

Please complete the application form below and return to the Sports Development Unit. Evidence will be required to support your application.

What happens next?

All applications will be considered by the grants committee, who meet on a quarterly basis. Applicants will be told whether their application has been successful in writing after these meetings have taken place.
