Tamar Estuaries Consultative Forum achievements
- Providing an effective management framework for the Tamar Estuaries that coordinates all those with an interest and responsibility in the Tamar Estuaries, resolving issues and delivering added value through partnership and collaboration.
- The development and implementation of the Tamar Estuaries Management Plans 1997 and 2001 to 2006, and the development and adoption of the current Tamar Estuaries Management Plan 2006 to 2012, which also serves as a review of the Plymouth Sound and Estuaries European Marine Site Scheme 2001 to 2006. The Tamar Estuaries Management Plan 2006 to 2012 can be downloaded from the file attachments table below.
- Developing a dedicated Tamar Estuaries Consultative Forum (TECF) website to build awareness about the Tamar Estuaries, and the work of TECF, and to encourage participation.
- Delivering ‘added value’ coastal management projects. Commissioning consultants to undertake a number of key studies that influence policy on the use and management of the estuaries’ assets. Visit our documents and publications page for more information.
- Coordination of education events including annual beach and underwater clean up events, the Splash Coastal Festival and Low Tide Day events.
