Term dates
School term and holiday dates are set by the Local Authority (LA) for community and voluntary controlled (VC) schools and maintained nursery schools. Governing bodies set the term dates for foundation, trust and voluntary aided schools and academies. Please see our schools directory page for information on individual school categories.
Non-pupil days
School governing bodies set 10 occasional and professional development days for their schools, known as non-pupil days, from within the term dates. The Local Authority does not hold this information and parents or carers are advised to contact schools direct to find out the dates set in each school.
