Bloody Henry Starfish

The Bloody Henry Starfish (Henricia sp.) belongs to the Phylum Echinodermata that includes brittlestars, sea urchins and sea cucumbers. Starfish move over rocks using their countless tube-feet and search out prey such as mussels, snails and barnacles. To open a mussel, the starfish uses all five arms to prize the mussel’s shell apart then pushes its stomach out through its mouth to digest the contents of the shell.
