In August 2007 after a lot of discussions and consultation with the local community the North Plymstock including Minerals Area Action Plan was adopted. The vision is: 'To create high quality, locally distinctive and sustainable mixed-use neighbourhoods in North Plymstock. The significant development focus in this area will provide major new sustainable infrastructure, particularly a High Quality Public Transport (HQPT) system and facilities to support a high quality of life. Other development opportunities in the area will be coordinated to create successful relationships between different uses. Mineral reserves in the area will be safeguarded to meet current and future needs. The character of the area will be strongly influenced by significant new recreational opportunities in the form of a countryside park, green space links and sports facilities'.
This development, called Morley Park will include 1,684 new homes including 208 affordable housing and 357 lifetime homes. It will also include employment uses, a range of community facilities, including an extended Primary School, community centre/library/place of worship and an all weather dual use playing pitch. Key routes will be lined with trees. A main square will include a supermarket with apartments above and a range of shopping, service and food and drink uses. There will also be a children's play area, a doctors surgery/health centre. Associated highway, pedestrian and cycle access, including two main access junctions and emergency access only to the site from Colesdown Hill and junction improvements to the existing Ride. Provision would be made for a bus route with bus stops or pull-ins for buses within the site and a bus service would be provided between the site and local shops and services in Plymstock. Access will be improved to informal open space with woodland paths and an exercise route, informal meeting spaces for older children and three play areas.

A master plan is being prepared to review the park and look at ways to improve access for people. Consultation will take place during 2010 with a final masterplan published early 2011. Any works required, such as improvements to footpaths will then take place next year.
Strategic employment site, currently under construction is a power station and energy park, an application is due in 2008 for a further 20,000 square metres expansion to the employment land.
The Eastern Corridor is broadly used to describe the following area: From the city centre -along the A374 through Cattedown - along the A379 through Plymstock and Sherford and ending at Langage Business Park, north of the A38. This work is essential to enable development to be delivered along the corridor and to provide viable transport choices to people living and working in Plymouth. The scheme focuses on public transport improvements to ensure the sustainable delivery of the proposed growth to the east of the city. The scheme will potentially include:
