Summary of dwelling completions 2010 to 2011 chart and data table [20KB]
Of the dwellings completed in the past year:
Percentage of new build completions chart and data table [60KB]
In the years up to 2009, redevelopment was taking place in the waterfront regeneration areas and was characterised by a high number of new flats, up to 83 per cent of all new homes. This produced an average development density for the city of 131 dwellings per hectare.
The type of dwellings completed in 2010 to 2011 show a more balanced mix as a result of the progress of a number of large redevelopment sites - at Southway, and other less densely developed sites. These are characterised by a higher proportion of semi-detached and terraced houses. In 2010 to 2011 the average development density for the city was 56 dwellings per hectare (dph), similar to that of the previous year.
