Equipment

If you are aged 18 or over and need to use enabling equipment to help you stay independent, we can offer you information, advice and support.

In line with Government requirements, we have a Community Equipment Service to issue equipment on loan, after assessment, for use by people with disabilities and their carers.

What do we mean by equipment?

These are items that may enable you to carry out daily living tasks as independently as possible. This could be a walking aid or bath seat for example, and may also be used to help your carer to continue looking after you at home, safely.

How do you decide what equipment may help you?

Occupational Therapists will talk to you about your needs - we call this an assessment. They will identify the safest, most suitable equipment to meet your needs.

We use 'Fair Access to Care Services' guidance from the Department of Health to help us work out who is eligible for a service. To find out more, please see the help from adult social care service page.
