Free access for national sportspeople scheme
What is fans?
The Plymouth 'FANS' scheme (Free Access for National Sportspeople) provides the city's national level sportspeople with free access to a range of leisure facilities in the city.
FANS aims to help elite sportspeople to achieve their full potential by reducing the financial burden of training costs.
Who is eligible?
The scheme is open to Plymouth's sportspeople of all ages who compete at a national level, or above, in any sport recognised by Sport England.*
To be eligible for the scheme you must:
- Reside within the recognised city boundaries or be affiliated to a Plymouth sports club
- Be a current member of a national or international team/squad
- Be currently listed in the top 10 national or international age group rankings
- Be an athlete that is currently supported by Team Plymouth
A list of eligible sports can be found on the Sport England website.

How do I apply?
Complete the application form below and return it to the Sports Development Unit. Supporting evidence will be required from a National Governing Body of Sport.
