Discounts for foster carers
Foster carers have one of the most important roles in the community. In recognition of this, Plymouth City Council has teamed up with local shops and attractions to offer exclusive rates to our foster families.

- Half price entry for adults at Dartmoor Zoological Park (usual price £8.95)
- Reduced entry to Tinside Lido - £1 per person for a session, or £2 for a whole day.
- 10 per cent discount on any group lessons and open practice at Plymouth Ski Centre.
- Reduced entry to Living Coasts, Torquay's coastal zoo - £3.60 for children up to age 15, £4.15 for students above this age and one carer will be admitted free per child (compared to their normal price of £4.10 per child, £4.60 per student and £5.90 per adult).
- A foster carer can gain free entry to the National Marine Aquarium for each paying child. Since children under the age of five don’t have to pay, the discount does not apply to carers with children of this age.
- £1 discount per person to enter Springfields Fun Park and Pony Centre (not valid with any other offer).
- 10 per cent off standard entry prices to the Miniature Pony Centre near Newton Abbot.
- Free entry to Diggerland for each carer (rides not included).
- £5 discount when foster families spend £20 or more on pottery painting only at Clayart on the Barbican (not valid on parties or with any other offers).
- 10 per cent discount for the whole family at Paint a Pot in Looe (20 per cent discount if there are five or more of you).
- 10 per cent discount at Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway (excluding Special Event days, 10.30am or 11.15am departures from Paignton during Peak Season, or 3.30pm or 4.15pm departures from Kingswear during Peak Season).
- £1 off every ticket at Lappa Valley Steam Railway for up to four people per family (the only acceptable form of ID is the foster carer ID card).
- Reduced entry to the Ancient Egyptian Centre in Dobwalls - £8 for a family ticket (two adults and two children, plus £1.75 for each additional child. Compared to normal price of £10 for a family ticket and £2.50 for each extra child).
- Reduced entry to Colliford Lake Park on Bodmin Moor - two adults per foster family can enter free, £4 entry per child (standard price £6 per adult and £5 per child, or free for under 2's).
- £2.75 reduction per person on entry to DairyLand Farm World near Newquay (usual price £7.75 per adult and £6.25 per child).
Please note: To claim the above discounts, foster carers must show proof of their status. ID cards are available to approved foster carers. Please let us know if you have any problems obtaining the above discounts.
