GROWTH ACCELERATION AND INVESTMENT NETWORK
Plymouth Science and Innovation Project, with a trading name of Growth Acceleration and Investment Network (GAIN) provides a tremendous opportunity for the city. The objective and mission of GAIN is to significantly increase the wealth of the citizens of (initially) in the Plymouth travel to work area.
GAIN will lead the creation of the necessary conditions for the economic growth and co-ordinate delivery of the activities that create a substantially larger high-value economy, and supports the objective to ensure that the Plymouth travel to work area is a top twenty innovation city (as measured on NESTA's Innovation Index by 2020).
The GAIN network seeks to create a step change in the economy by driving the creation, growth and acceleration of many more successful knowledge-based businesses whether in existing or new firms.
GAIN main objectives/tasks
- To provide leadership, ensuring that the players in the economy co-ordinate their efforts effectively, maximising interaction and synergies
- Ensuring that all the conditions, activities and processes required to achieve GAIN's objectives and missions are in place, effective and evolve as necessary
- Enabling the widest possible participation of players and citizens in the economy's growth
