Health is an important factor in delivering community well-being and we support a programme to improve the healthcare facilities in the city.

The Plymouth Primary Care Trust is progressing with projects to improve Plymouth’s primary health care facilities.

New Primary Care Centres are planned for Millbay, Derriford, Morley Park (Plymstock Quarry) and Sherford.
Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust is proposing a number of improvements to Derriford Hospital. These include a new multi-storey car park, refurbishment of operating theatres, relocation of the haemodialysis unit, and relocation of eye services from the Royal Eye Infirmary to Derriford.
The redevelopment of the hospital’s main entrance is also being investigated to provide improved Children’s Hospital facilities and improved Urgent Care Pathway (Accident and Emergency) facilities.
